Beyond Burger ingredients claim to be lower in saturated fat than real meat. They imply that saturated fats are bad for us. They include cocoa butter, coconut oil, canola and sunflower.
https://www.beyondmeat.com/about/our-ingredients/ But are these fats really better than animal fats? The heart's favorite foods are stearic and palmitic acids (research Dr. Mary Enig). These two fats are SATURATED fats and found in animal fats. Beef raised on pasture with fresh air and finished on grass or even some grains (avoiding soy) to fatten them up (I don't like lean meat), is the ideal. The fat profile in a pasture raised animal is very healthy. Don't fall for the marketing hype! Cows green the planet when outside on pasture. Alan Savory talks a lot about this. Also, canola and sunflower rancid easily. It is rancid oils that are of greatest health concern as they do contribute greatly to heart disease.
